Job Summary
Conduct venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens while maintaining strict infection control and hygiene standards. Manage multiple patients efficiently in a fast-paced clinic setting, prioritizing tasks and addressing challenging draws or difficult veins. Handle biohazard materials safely and ensure proper specimen storage using centrifuges and appropriate tools. This role supports onsite pooling operations at Bridgetowne QC with a shifting schedule from 6am to 10pm, requiring a licensed phlebotomist or registered medical technologist with BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- 100% Onsite (Bridgetowne QC)
- Shifting (Clinic Operations 6am-10pm)
- Graduate of Medical Laboratory Science, Phlebotomy, or equivalent health sciences course
- Licensed Phlebotomist or Registered Medical Technologist
- Med-Tech License
- Knowledgeable in infection control, hygiene, and safe disposal of sharp and biohazard materials
- Understanding of veins, circulation, and human body systems related to blood collection
- Basic knowledge of phlebotomy tools, centrifuges, and sample storage requirements
- Proficient in venipuncture, capillary puncture, and proper specimen handling
- Efficiently handle multiple patients and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinic or laboratory setting
- Ability to address challenging draws, difficult veins, or unexpected patient reactions
- Good communication and people skills
Desired Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
