Job Summary
Ensure accurate specimen collection, labeling, and handling by interpreting provider test orders and following standard operating procedures. Process specimens by evaluating orders for acceptability, labeling aliquots, and correcting defects before passing them to the next step. Utilize HIS and LIS software for patient registration, test order entry, and all job-related functions. Maintain a clean environment, support patient comfort and safety, and educate patients during procedures using the AIDET model and PRIDE values. Operate and maintain technical equipment, manage supply inventory and expiration dates, and assist with team member training. Adhere to department safety procedures and regulatory policies.
