Job Summary
Provides blood collection for laboratory analysis and 12 Lead Cardiograms acquisitions for in-patients and select out-patients. 8-hour evening/night shifts (0.8 FTE, 64 hours per two-week pay period) with every other weekend rotation. Responsibilities include phlebotomy with accurate patient identification, adherence to pre-analytical processes, and data entry. Uses Excellian and Rover systems for specimen collection and patient identification, and submits tickets for malfunctioning equipment via Service Now. Maintains infection control practices, PPE usage, and professional interactions with the care team. Participates in departmental operations, safety huddles, and ensures timely communication and hand-offs. Requires 18+ years old; preferred education and phlebotomy/BLS certifications; two to five years of phlebotomy experience preferred. Benefits and union details are provided by Allina Health.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- 2 to 5 years experience in phlebotomy (preferred)
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource preferred
- Phlebotomy Certification upon hire preferred
