Job Summary
Collect patient specimens via venipuncture using proper identification, labeling, and infection-control techniques. Activate laboratory orders in the computer system, coordinate with office staff, and verify ABN documentation. Receive, prepare, and process specimens for hospital delivery or courier transport while conducting waived testing and assembling kits per protocol. Maintain accurate documentation, organized workstations, and compliance with safety standards. Assist with training new staff to ensure consistent specimen-collection practices. Perform this work in clinical and laboratory environments with regular exposure to blood and sharps, requiring frequent standing, walking, and fine-motor tasks.
Required Qualifications
