Job Summary
Phlebotomist responsible for routine and complex blood draws for inpatients and outpatients at MEDVAMC; performs venipuncture, labels and transports specimens, verifies patient identity, and maintains accurate documentation. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, ensuring proper collection techniques, processing and routing specimens to the laboratory, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to HIPAA and hospital policies. Requires phlebotomy certification, strong communication, ability to work independently, and capability to handle a high-volume blood-drawing workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Must have at least two years of work experience in phlebotomy and perform within the last 3 years.
