Job Summary
Manage and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth donors by cultivating new major relationships, securing planned giving commitments, and implementing personalized stewardship plans. Lead donor strategy through forecasting, analytics, and data-driven outreach using Salesforce and wealth-screening tools to prioritize prospects and predict behavior. Coordinate with the CEO, Board, and cross-functional teams to convert mid-level donors into major contributors while advocating for increased investment in MPN research. This role co-leads individual, family, and planned fundraising efforts for the MPN Research Foundation, a mission-driven organization advancing cures for myeloproliferative neoplasms. The position requires a strategic mindset and strong communication skills to engage stakeholders on rare disease topics.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record in philanthropy and major donor engagement within the non-profit sector or sales acumen in life sciences, healthcare, or the biopharmaceutical industry
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
- Ability and strong interest in learning about MPNs, medical research and drug development, the disease landscape and global ecosystem
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders to meet them where they are and understand their journey with MPNs
- Technical proficiency in relevant research methodologies and development tools
- Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to inform fundraising strategies
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving impact
- Experience in developing and implementing systems and processes to enhance fundraising efficiency
- Ability and interest to travel once a quarter
- Ability to work cross-functionally, putting aside personal agendas, in a dynamic, fast-paced, lean startup-like environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in unstructured or ambiguous situations
- Passion for the mission and demonstrated commitment to the values of the MPN Research Foundation
- Driven and committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by MPNs
- Chicago based preferred, with ability to work from an office occasionally, but not required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in rare disease and/or oncology industries
- Familiarity with marketing principles and strategies
