Job Summary
PhD thesis positioning to develop automated isolation, enrichment and library preparation techniques for NGS analyses in precision medicine. Independently design and implement an innovative system for automated preparation in a microfluidic environment, and integrate reliable quality checkpoints into a multistep pipeline. Work in an interdisciplinary, international team with regular presentations, discussion, and evaluation of results. Requires a technically oriented biology background, hands-on biology/biochemistry experience, and proficiency in English and German.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field (life sciences, biotechnology, bioengineering)
- excellent Master’s degree in biotechnology, bioengineering or related discipline
- experience in molecular biology and biochemistry
- expertise in NGS-relevant techniques
- experience with lab-on-chip systems or microfluidic environments
- ability to independently design and implement automated preparation workflows
- ability to integrate quality and quantity checkpoints into multistep processes
- strong written and spoken communication in English and German
