Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician supports Pharmacist in preparation and distribution of medications, inventory management, stock replacement, and ensures appropriate patient/staff billing in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include filling floor stock and inpatient carts, entering and reconciling medication orders, verifying drug information (brand/generic names, strengths), monitoring narcotic discrepancies, restocking anesthesia carts and delivering medications to nursing units, handling charges/credits in the computer system, communicating with Purchasing for stock levels and site needs, and maintaining a clean work area. Requires Ohio or Kentucky pharmacy technician licensure as applicable, and a High School Diploma. The role operates on a contingent, part-time schedule under supervision of the Pharmacy Business Manager, Pharmacist-In-Charge, and Registered Pharmacist Supervisor at SOMC-Vanceburg Pharmacy.
