Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician Trainee assists the pharmacist in providing safe, patient-focused pharmacy services under supervision. Responsibilities include processing patient-specific medication orders, maintaining accurate records, supporting inventory and unit-dose repackaging, ensuring work is checked by a pharmacist, maintaining a clean and confidential work environment, and upholding hospital policies. The role requires completion of credentialing steps (PTCB exam, MA Board of Pharmacy registration after 500–1,000 trainee hours) and ongoing training; candidates must be at least 16–18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrate good moral character. Training is aimed at qualifying for professional certification and future licensed technician status.
Required Qualifications

- Be at least 18 years old
- Must be registered with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy after completing 500 hours and before 1,000 hours
- Pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam
- Have good moral character; no drug felony conviction
- Be currently enrolled in high school can be accepted with proof of enrollment (16+ age) as MA state requires
- Provide proof of current enrollment if in school and obtain recommended letter of reference from school
