Job Summary
Process prescriptions for pharmacist review, verify authenticity, and manage patient intake by entering detailed information into the pharmacy system. Navigate insurance plans to accurately bill appropriate coverage, coordinate benefits, and assist patients with copayment assistance programs. Maintain and update patient health, allergy, demographic, and insurance records while providing friendly service in person, over the phone, and through written communication. Shadow dispensing and compounding of specialty medications, collaborate with provider offices to resolve patient-specific issues, and refer clinical questions to pharmacists under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Obtain a temporary pharmacy technician license immediately upon hire and work within a fast-paced pharmacy setting requiring standing, walking, or prolonged computer-based tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to get a temporary Pharmacy Technician license immediately upon hire and obtain full licensure within one year
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer systems and insurance billing
- Detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently under pressure
- Builds and maintains strong patient relationships
- Communicates effectively across multiple modes
- Maintains a positive attitude and follows through on commitments

- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods
