Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in preparing and packaging prescriptions and unit-dose medications, maintains accurate records and inventories of drugs including controlled substances, stocks and organizes pharmaceutical supplies, and supports medication delivery to housing units. The role requires adherence to safety, privacy (HIPAA), and regulatory standards, including NCCHC and state board requirements, while working under pharmacist supervision in a correctional facility. Preferred experience includes correctional, hospital, or retail pharmacy settings and familiarity with electronic medical records or pharmacy management systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician registration/certification in the State of New Mexico, as required by the Board of Pharmacy.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication labeling, and inventory practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, secure correctional environment.
