Job Summary
Accurately prepare and dispense medications in accordance with pharmacy SOPs, identify stock, count quantities, and prepare prescription labels. Verify patient eligibility with insurance plans and third-party payers, calculate costs, and answer incoming calls while escalating complex inquiries to the pharmacist. Assist with patient education materials, support refill authorization requests, and maintain accurate records for quality control. Manage daily pharmacy operations including inventory, supplies, and cash handling while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and promote positive relationships with patients and the community.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Pharmacy Technician Certification from an approved technical school or a minimum of six months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
- Ability to complete required 340B University training within the first two weeks of employment and maintain annual renewals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health records
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and ability to perform basic pharmacy math
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- Ability to maintain focus and accuracy during prolonged periods of concentration
- Must be available for up to 40 hours of in-person, on-site training during their first week
