Job Summary
Pharmacy technicians assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients. They procure and distribute medication orders, fill physician orders and carts, prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile preparations, stock and rotate inventory, operate automated dispensing equipment, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Responsibilities include replenishing medications, loading new inventory, ensuring look-alike/sound-alike drugs are segregated, handling charges/returns, and supporting risk management, safety, and infection control while complying with state regulations and hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas state technician licensure
- PTCB Certification
- ACPE IV Certification
- Education: High school degree or equivalent, Associate/bachelor's degree – preferred
- Previous experience as a hospital pharmacy technician preferred
