Job Summary
Fill patient medication orders for all age groups and send pharmaceutical supplies throughout the hospital under direct pharmacist supervision. Operate automated dispensing machines to assist nursing staff with waste, override, returns, and other issues. Receive and check orders from wholesalers and manufacturers, while capturing charges and credits for floor stock items. Perform sterile compounding and admixture using aseptic technique, and inspect clinical areas to ensure compliance with proper medication storage. Oversee expiration, replenishment, and exchange of crash carts, and manage inventory control by rotating stock and checking for expired medications. This PRN position requires a High School Diploma or GED and Pharmacy Technician Certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Pharmacy Technician Certification or approved plan for certification
Desired Qualifications
- 1 or 2 years' experience as hospital pharmacy technician
