Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist in filling prescription items, entering orders, and distributing medications to customers while using the point of sale to complete transactions. Manage inventory by taking stock, ordering, labeling, and stocking supplies, and coordinate refill requests and patient medication assistance. Provide health-related education to clients regarding medication instructions, refills, and general pharmacy workflows. This part-time role requires 30 hours per week under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Candidates must hold a Colorado Pharmacy Technician license or obtain a provisional one, possess a valid driver's license, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity when working with diverse populations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Colorado; or the ability to get obtain a provisional license prior to starting
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, staff members, insurance entities and others
- Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity when working with individuals and groups of diverse racial, ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds
- Intermediate computer knowledge required with the ability to learn and use electronic medical records, timekeeping, communications, etc
- Ability to work at any location as needed, and to travel to training or meetings outside of the service area
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills while conversing with patients, families, health professionals and insurance companies
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours meet job requirements
- This position requires long periods of standing and walking, sitting at a computer, the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds, etc
- Employees are exposed to blood, body fluids, and other occupational hazards, and are required to complete mandatory vaccines, such as Tdap, Hep A, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, and the yearly flu vaccine
Desired Qualifications
- Candidates are preferred to be able to read, write, and speak in Spanish, due to the population of patients that we serve
