Job Summary
Detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician at a 24/7 Emergency Specialty veterinary hospital prepares, packages, and labels prescription medications for animal patients; interprets veterinary prescriptions and ensures proper dosage and administration; provides medication information to veterinary staff and pet owners; processes medication refills and prescription authorizations; complies with federal and state pharmacy laws and veterinary regulations; assists with record-keeping, billing, and data entry related to prescriptions; supports veterinarians in managing controlled substances and inventory; communicates professionally with pet owners regarding medications and proper administration techniques; collaborates with a team; maintains pharmacy cleanliness and organization; requires a high school diploma and about 1 year of pharmacy experience; familiarity with veterinary medications and dosage calculations; proficiency with Ezy-Vet is a plus; availability to work holidays and weekends; on-call/beeper coverage. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting (veterinary or human)
- Familiarity with veterinary medications and dosage calculations
- Proficiency with Ezy-Vet software is a plus
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading)
- Availability to work on holidays and weekends
- Beeper/on-call coverage required
