Job Summary
Communicate with pharmacists, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care and initiate billing functions. Fill and deliver medications, prepare sterile products per USP 797 regulations, and manage inventory by anticipating needs, placing orders, and troubleshooting Pyxis systems. Perform nursing unit and medication storage audits, repackage pharmaceuticals, and provide guidance to new staff. Register as a Certified Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of employment if currently unregistered.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a National or State of Ohio Pharmacy Technician through the National Healthcareer Association and/or the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee prior to start date
- Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of employment
- Typing skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Some computer knowledge
