Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in dispensing prescriptions, verifying drug interactions, counting and pouring pharmaceuticals, and managing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information. Engage customers and patients by greeting them, resolving issues, and offering assistance with products and services to deliver a distinctive customer experience. Handle telephone calls, process manual claims, manage cash registers, and support inventory activities including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments. Maintain knowledge of company policies, report prescription errors immediately, and adhere to Good Faith Dispensing guidelines. Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program while attending requested training and continuing education. Work flexible schedules including evening and weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration
- Attends training requested by Manager and acquires continuing education credits
- Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens
- Prefer good math skills so they can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring and weighing medications
- Prefer good computer skills
- Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control
- Prefer PTCB certification
