Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs while verifying accuracy and checking for interactions. Process claims, manage cash registers, and handle inventory tasks including ordering and stocking supplies. Engage customers and patients to resolve issues and ensure a positive experience, while reporting prescription errors immediately. Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and attend continuing education. Work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends to support pharmacy operations and community outreach efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration
- Otherwise, earns PTCB certification as condition of promotion to senior technician
- Attends training requested by Manager and acquires continuing education credits
- Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens
- Prefer good math skills so they can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring and weighing medications
- Prefer good computer skills
- Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control
- Prefer PTCB certification
