Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs while verifying accuracy and checking for interactions. Process patient and drug information using pharmacy systems, register sales on assigned cash registers, and handle third-party claims. Engage customers and patients by greeting them, resolving issues, and offering assistance with products to deliver a distinctive customer experience. Support pharmacy operations through inventory management, ordering shipments, and maintaining department cleanliness. Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to strict quality improvement policies. Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our designated training program while developing skills to serve patients and advance your career in healthcare.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.
- Otherwise, earns PTCB certification as condition of promotion to senior technician.
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer good math skills so they can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring and weighing medications.
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
