Job Summary
Prepare drug orders from physicians for review and dispensing by a registered pharmacist, count, compound, and repackage pharmaceuticals using established procedures, and transport IVs to the nursing floor using aseptic techniques. Replenish Pyxis machines, specialty carts, and department inventory while monitoring and documenting refrigerator temperatures and waste disposal. Perform various billing and crediting functions to ensure compliance with hospital finance policies, and conduct monthly inspections to maintain required competencies in IV lab, Pyxis, McKesson Automation, and CAPS systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania
- Physical ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull patients on bed or stretcher (requires 29 lbs push force)
- Ability to perform lateral transfers up to 50 lbs of patient weight
- Ability to stand/walk frequently to continuously
- Ability to walk 8-10 miles per shift
- Ability to kneel, bend, squat
- Ability to perform CPR
