Job Summary
Assist in the daily operation of the pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Perform all warehouse and pharmacy duties including receiving, entering prescriptions, picking, counting, labeling, packing and tracking inventory. Under the direction of the pharmacist, ensure patients receive medications meeting all applicable laws and regulations. Transact in accordance with company ethics; interact with veterinarians and pharmacists; proofread and apply drug labels; handle hazardous materials and prescription drugs per procedures and laws; gain knowledge of overall warehouse and pharmacy operations; manage time to meet goals; maintain a safe, organized workspace; contribute to safety compliance and KPI achievement. Preferred knowledge includes pharmacy technician certification (CPhT/NHA/PTCB), English proficiency, and prior pharmacy experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Good computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to pass the exam to become a certified pharmacy technician with the state Board of Pharmacy
