Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician role supports and assists the operation of the pharmacy department, under the supervision of a Pharmacist, including inventory control of pharmacy stock, routine clerical duties, and processing prescriptions. Responsibilities include entering prescription data accurately into pharmacy software, filling prescriptions, handling third-party billing and insurance claims, processing transactions at point of sale, communicating with patients, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, 340B program requirements, and state/federal regulations. The role requires familiarity with pharmacy software (NextGen, PMS, QSI), maintaining pharmacy quality standards, bilingual communication is preferred, and basic typing (45 WPM). Education includes high school or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program, plus active licensure/certification with the State Board of Pharmacy. The position supports clinic medications and home deliveries, participates in compliance activities, and adheres to safety and security guidelines.
