Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician position focuses on pharmacy buying, inventory management, and purchasing. Responsibilities include stocking, counting, assembling, and distributing medications. Technicians will prepare medications for pharmacist verification, print labels, maintain pharmacy records, and uphold legal responsibilities regarding prescription handling. Essential skills include proficiency in basic mathematics and good communication, as well as familiarity with pharmacy processes and drug names.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician licensure with the state
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Principles of drug distribution
- Good communication skills
- Familiarity with pharmacy stock and distribution procedures
- Knowledge of drug nomenclature
- Dosage calculations
- Understanding of commonly used drug names
- Ability to read a prescription
