Job Summary
Interview patients and review medication-related documentation to compile admission histories for the electronic health record. Enter compiled data to facilitate medication reconciliation by admitting providers. Seek clarification from pharmacists regarding questions or issues arising during the process. Requires active Alabama State Board of Pharmacy registration and national certification (PTCB or ExCPT) within 30 days of hire. Minimum of six months current pharmacy technician experience is required, with inpatient and outpatient/retail background preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire date
- Registration must be in good standing active
- National certification with PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT (Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians) upon hire
- Minimum of 6 months of current Pharmacy Tech experience
Desired Qualifications
- Combination of both inpatient and outpatient experience, particularly outpatient/retail experience
