Job Summary
Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information to process prescriptions and assist pharmacists in performing technical duties related to drug distribution. Fill medication orders accurately, prepare labels, calculate quantities, and compound sterile and non-sterile products while monitoring inventory levels and placing restock orders. Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring medications are properly labeled, checked by a pharmacist, and dispensed in a timely manner. Prioritize workload, maintain organization, and coordinate activities with team members while communicating drug information requests to pharmacists. Answers the phone to attend to customer needs and assists with orientation and training of new pharmacy colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good math skills needed for counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Basic computer skills
- RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania
- Lift and carry 25 lbs
- frequent sitting/standing
- frequent keyboard use
- patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR

Desired Qualifications
- 1 year pharmacy technician experience
- Knowledge of inventory control
- Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
- Knowledge and ability to use pharmacy automation
- CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
