Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician at Legacy Community Health supports pharmacists in preparing, filling, and delivering medications to the community. The role involves obtaining and entering patient information, ensuring correct medications via proper dispensing procedures, maintaining medication and supply stock, processing insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations, completing daily/monthly activity checklists, offering counseling to patients, communicating with physician offices or insurance companies, performing weekly controlled substance cycle counts, participating in staff training, delivering positive customer service at the cash register, maintaining patient confidentiality, disseminating information to peers, participating in physical inventories and 340b program inventory integrity, reconciling prescription fills against billing, and performing other assigned duties. The position emphasizes collaboration with pharmacists and healthcare professionals, a patient-centered mission, and opportunities for growth within Legacy Community Health in Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
- Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.
- Must maintain BLS /CPR.
- Must maintain required certifications.
- Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 1+ years community pharmacy preferred.
- 1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and managing a cash register.
