Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician Lead oversees the Hematology/Oncology Ambulatory team on the Winston Campus, directing shift workflow, assigning and reviewing technician tasks, assisting with interviewing and development, creating staff schedules, and ensuring supervision and compliance. Responsibilities include training and onboarding of staff, identifying quality improvement opportunities, coordinating medication preparation and dispensing with pharmacists, managing inventory and recalls, handling billing adjustments for medications, and supporting documentation to meet regulatory standards. Requires NC pharmacy technician licensure, PTCB or ExCPT certification, associate degree in pharmacy technology, and typically 3 years of related experience. The role also involves leadership duties, mentoring teammates, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in pharmacy technology required for technicians in NC
- State board registration/licensure per state of employment
- PTCB or ExCPT certification
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in health care, insurance, pharmacy, or medical background
