Job Summary
Assist pharmacists in preparing pharmaceuticals, including filling medication orders, carts, labels, and data entry. Count, package, and label medication orders for pharmacist inspection while ensuring secure storage of controlled substances. Refill automated dispensing devices and prepare/deliver IVs. Maintain department records, files, and inventory as required by law and policy. Perform back-up tape changes for the IS department when needed. Comply with all departmental policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols. Clearly communicate and support the mission and values of Johnson Memorial Health. Maintain a current Indiana pharmacy technician license or complete approved training within 12 months. Work Monday through Friday with rotating weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Current Indiana pharmacy technician license
- Student at an approved college of pharmacy with a current Pharmacy Intern License
- Pharmacy Technician-in-Training Certification to be obtained within 30 days
- Pharmacy Tech License to be obtained within 12 months of entering the program
