Job Summary
Direct technician staff in assigned areas, lead pharmacy technicians and volunteers on daily dispensing, compounding sterile preparations, and workflow tasks. Manage inventory by handling stockouts, replenishing Pyxis systems, and ensuring proper refrigeration of returned items. Provide formal, in-depth training and onboarding for new hires and rotation students, serving as the onboarding and training coordinator. Operate under limited supervision in the cleanroom to maintain USP 797, 795, and 800 compliance while triaging phone calls and promoting excellent customer service. Collaborate with department leadership to develop pharmacy improvement initiatives and address operational monitoring and regulatory compliance issues.
Required Qualifications
- HS/GED plus 4 yrs Pharmacy Tech Experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- 1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program
- National Technician Certification (PTCB)
- Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening

- Substance Abuse Testing
Desired Qualifications

- Prior Supervisory experience
- 2+ years of UAMS pharmacy experience
