Pharmacy Technician IV - Ambulatory Pharmacy

Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations in ambulatory clinics, including entering prescription orders, operating the point-of-sale system, and providing patient support through bedside deliveries and IV medication preparation. Supervise pharmacy staff, volunteers, and students by hiring, training, evaluating, and administering human resources functions for direct reports. Manage controlled substance storage and distribution while coordinating operational assistance for programs like MAP, retail drug PAPs, prior authorizations, and Medicare enrollment. Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to maintain workflows, ensure compliance, and improve patient outcomes. Prioritize work based on immediate needs and changing workloads.
Required Qualifications
- HS/GED plus 4 yrs Pharmacy Tech Experience (i.e., previous lead technician in a sterile compounding setting, etc.) or a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- 1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program
- National Technician Certification (PTCB)
- Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Licensure
- Within one year of start date, will complete a specialized certificate program in sterile compounding (i.e., ASHP or PTCB)
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
- Substance Abuse Testing
Desired Qualifications
- B.S. or higher degree
- ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training
- Previous sterile compounding experience, hazardous drug handling, etc.
- Previous management or team leader experience
- Specialized certificate or certification (i.e., PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician, ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate, 340B Certification, etc.)
