Job Summary
Prepare medications from physician orders or pharmacy-generated labels, including compounded sterile products and extemporaneously prepared doses. Load and refill PYXIS automated dispensing cabinets, deliver medications to nursing units and clinics, and manage medication stock in procedure areas. Perform routine computer functions for charge/credits and label generation, obtain patient medication lists, and transcribe them into the medication reconciliation database. Conduct monthly outdate checks, perform unit inspections, and document results. Return discontinued medications to the pharmacy following crediting. Work part-time, 20 hours per week, day shift.
Required Qualifications
- Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience
- State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
- Prior experience in a hospital Pharmacy
- Knowledge and experience with sterile intravenous admixture practices
