Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in pharmaceutical care across Carle Foundation Hospital and related locations. Performs technical tasks including filing, compounding, reconstitution, labeling, and delivery. Responsibilities include accurately and safely preparing and labeling chemotherapy drugs, filling and delivering Omnicell restock lists, developing and maintaining training materials, processing new prescriptions and refills, billing functions (patient charges, nursing unit charges, and controlled substances), non-sterile compounding, IV product preparation, parenteral nutrition, and enteral nutrition; restocking trays and assisting Operating Room staff when needed; refer to a pharmacist when appropriate. Must maintain appropriate licensure/certification status within stated timelines and adhere to institutional policies.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician OR Licensed Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of license application (IDFPR)
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of license application - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
