Job Summary

Prepare and dispense patient medications, sterile products, TPNs, non-sterile medications, hazardous medications, and ADC medications and supplies, ensuring safe delivery to nursing units. Demonstrate compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800 standards for compounding unit-dose oral and IV medications. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly documentation; fill unit-dose medication carts; restock pharmacy work areas; and inspect storage areas for expired items. Assist pharmacists in processing orders, answer phones, and provide accurate handoffs. Train new technicians, transporters, or interns. Work evening shifts from 12:30 PM to 12:30 AM Monday through Friday with every fourth weekend rotation.

Required Qualifications

Board of Pharmacy Technician License (Registered or Certified)
Certification by examination as a pharmacy technician (CPhT, ExCPT)
Six months of previous pharmacy experience
Availability from 12:30 PM to 12:30 AM Monday to Friday
Every 4th weekend rotation
Holiday rotation
1 major/1 minor rotation
Appropriate knowledge of and compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800 standards
Knowledge of other regulatory requirements
Detail-oriented
Patient-centered
Strong moral character
Competency on pharmacy technologies
Ability to climb stairs/ladder
