Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist in executing safe, efficacious pharmaceutical care by collecting clinical patient information, preparing medication orders, and performing IV compounding in USP 797/800 compliant clean rooms. Fill and maintain medication supplies while monitoring controlled substance inventories, packaging labeled medications to minimize waste, and ensuring pharmacy cleanliness. Communicate with caregivers regarding identified safety hazards and escalate concerns to the pharmacist for review. Work variable 10-hour days with evening shift rotations and every-other-weekend schedules at St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. Join a team of 55 pharmacy caregivers utilizing Omnicell and Alaris pumps, with 8 weeks of onsite training provided upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice
- Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification as appropriate to practice site
- Regular attendance to perform work during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Competent in understanding and usage of computers and software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google
- Ability to learn new applications relevant to the position
- Variable 10-hour days with rotations to evening shift every 4th week
- Daily assignments of main pharmacy and oncology pharmacy
- Every other weekend rotation
- Every other holiday rotation
