Job Summary
Procure and distribute medications per physician or pharmacist request, replenish automated dispensing units, and rotate stock before expiration. Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile preparations including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition, complying with sterile compounding regulations. Repackage bulk medications in unit-dose packages, restock IV room areas, and complete monthly storage area inspections. Maintain logs, pricing updates, and documentation; keep the pharmacy clean and organized. Answer phones, manage window requests, and make stat deliveries to patient care and ancillary areas. Work full-time days/evenings with flexibility, onsite at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. Obtain New York State licensure within the introductory period.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must attain New York State licensure for Registered Pharmacy Technicians within the introductory period
- Must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job
- Must be able to lift and carry light loads (up to 40 lbs.)
- Must be able to stoop and kneel
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long periods of time (4-8 hours)
- Must be available for onsite work at Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850
- Must be available for Full-Time - Days/Evenings, Flex shifts
- Must be available for 0%-5% travel
- Must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the company
- Must agree to execute consent forms for lawful pre-employment/post-offer checks
- Must agree to submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years pharmacy technician experience
- Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician Certification (CSPT)
- Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT-Adv)
- Problem solving ability and attention to detail
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes
