Pharmacy Technician - Infusion

Job Summary
Process new referrals for home and ambulatory infusion therapy by obtaining orders, conferencing with referral sources, pharmacists, and nurse coordinators, and verifying insurance eligibility and benefits. Manage pre- and re-authorizations, assist patients with copays and financial assistance, and perform monthly re-verification of active patient insurance. Update patient profiles regarding therapy changes, complete financial cost disclosures, and discuss patient obligations before care begins. Requires an Oregon Pharmacy Technician license, two years of insurance verification experience, and specialty pharmacy background. Monday-Friday day shift at the Halsey Building in Northeast Portland.
Required Qualifications
- Oregon Pharmacy Technician License OR Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician
- 2 years experience with insurance verification, medical claims processing, insurance member enrollment or customer service
- 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician in a specialty setting (e.g. Long Term Care, Infusion or Specialty Pharmacy), or 3 years pharmacy technician experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting
- 2 years experience with computers in data entry
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using electronic medical records software
