Job Summary
Prepare, compound, package, label, and distribute both hazardous and non-hazardous medications according to established standards while working alongside licensed pharmacists. Assist with dispensing medications for patients, maintain accurate records and documentation, and support the safe handling of pharmaceuticals. Help maintain medication inventory and ensure adequate stock levels, while following all applicable federal and New York State pharmacy regulations. Support quality assurance and compliance activities to uphold patient safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department
- High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma
- Equivalent of one (1) year of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience
- Ability to maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment
- Degrees conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards
