Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician III in the Medications in Hand (M2B) program provides coordinated bedside prescription medication delivery for patients being discharged, working with clinical pharmacists and the outpatient pharmacy to ensure discharge prescriptions are processed, adjudicated with insurance, and ready for dispensing prior to discharge. Responsible for capturing discharge prescription requests within assigned area, communicating program specifics to patients/providers, training and supervising Pharmacy Technicians I & II, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and contributing to a positive patient experience by removing barriers to timely discharge prescriptions. The role emphasizes high-quality patient-focused service, adherence to hospital standards, AIDET performance, and ongoing process improvement within outpatient pharmacy operations.
Required Qualifications
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's preferred (not required)
- Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy
- Must have national certification CPT from PTCB or exCPT
- Minimum four years of related experience
