Job Summary
Assist a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information. Receive and stock incoming supplies, and may prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board are required. Maintain at least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience. Work 40 weekly hours as a regular employee.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1 year experience
- Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP)
- National certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Ability to perform job functions while standing
- Ability to perform job functions while sitting

- Ability to lift/lower objects 15 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
- Ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead 15 lbs.
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
- Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
Desired Qualifications
- At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
- Experience in sterile compounding
