Job Summary
Conduct outpatient pharmacy operations by accepting prescriptions, establishing billing, and documenting patient allergies. Prepare and package injectables and oral medications, including extemporaneous compounding of suspensions and liquids under pharmacist supervision. Independently resolve online adjudication issues with Third Party Payors without pharmacist intervention. Replenish pharmacy stock and train new technicians and interns on outpatient procedures. Accept calls to prepare orders for delivery in a rotating shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician)
- Certification as a pharmacy technician or documented passing score on certification exam prior to start date (PTCB, ExCPT)
- Two years of experience as a pharmacy technician
- Demonstrated skills in algebra by passing score on math competency administered on site
