Job Summary
Assist pharmacists in preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications while supporting the compounding of both hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceuticals. Maintain medication inventory through stocking, monitoring, and replenishing supplies, and ensure all preparations meet accuracy and safety standards. Participate in medication distribution activities across the organization and uphold quality assurance and compliance processes to maintain high patient safety standards. Follow federal and New York State pharmacy regulations and organizational policies while maintaining accurate records and documentation. Identify and address inventory or workflow issues to support efficient pharmacy operations and provide guidance for Pharmacy Assistant-related duties.
Required Qualifications
- National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department
- High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma
- Equivalent of six (6) months of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience
- Ability to follow established procedures and safety standards
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Experience in pharmacy operations, medication preparation, compounding, inventory management, or healthcare support roles
