Job Summary
Conduct pharmacy operations by removing drugs from stock, counting and mixing pharmaceuticals, and affixing labels to containers. Process prescriptions, collect patient data into the management system, and handle third-party adjudication and prior authorizations. Assist pharmacists with audit controls, mail order preparation, and inventory counts while maintaining a clean environment. Interact professionally with patients, providers, and external pharmacies to optimize service. Work Monday through Thursday and Saturdays with evening and weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of or experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ people
- A passion for the Center's work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people
- Two to three years' experience in a high-pressure professional medical environment
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency with pharmacy management and other software systems
- Ability to work effectively with people of diverse genders, races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish fluency preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment
- Full vaccination against COVID-19
