Job Summary
Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist. Responsibilities include processing medication orders, inventory management, customer service for prescriptions, and adherence to policies. Outpatient techs validate Medicaid/Medicare or commercial insurance coverage, handle cash and accounting reports; inpatient techs compound and prepare IV admixtures and related pharmaceuticals; central fill involves safe operation of equipment. Compliance with HIPAA, privacy and code of business conduct is required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High school diploma/GED
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT (NHA)
- completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience
- Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician through the PA State Board of Pharmacy (effective June 28, 2026)
