Job Summary
Support the pharmacist in gathering health and prescription information and register patients at clinic visits. Complete authorization for prescriptions, obtain supporting documentation for denials, and assist with processing prescriptions to retail pharmacies. Understand the billing process, troubleshoot insurance issues, and follow up with patients to ensure compliance with care. Register with the NJ Board of Pharmacy within 10 days of employment and complete certification within 180 days. Requires current NJ registration, PTCB certification, or equivalent experience, plus knowledge of medication therapy management and 340B programs. Salary ranges from $21.00 to $33.00.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year Ambulatory care pharmacy experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current NJ registration (or eligible on hire)
- Pharmacy technician National Certification (PTCB) or greater than 10 years hospital or equivalent pharmacy experience
- Completion of basic pharmaceutical calculations
- Knowledge of medication therapy management (MTM)
- Prescription authorization and Medicare/MTM billing experience
- Knowledge of 340B programs
