Job Summary
Prepare, package, and label medication accurately while processing prescription orders and managing billing. Triage incoming phone calls and electronic messages regarding medications, answering inquiries that do not require pharmacist judgment and directing clinical inquiries to a pharmacist. Maintain the electronic medical record, clean and restock pharmacy areas, and follow inventory control processes including cycle counts and checking expiration dates. Operate CII safe devices and adhere to controlled substance procedures. Assist in training pharmacy technicians, apprentices, and interns. Work 40 hours per week out of the South Lake Union Campus, primarily Monday through Friday with periodic holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current Washington state pharmacy technician license
- Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations
- Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Familiar with the generic names of drugs along with their basic indication
- Ability to use pharmacy computer systems and order entry in an accurate and efficient manner
- Pre-employment drug screening (passing a drug test)
- Monday thru Friday work schedule
- South Lake Union Campus location
Desired Qualifications
- Certified as a Washington State Pharmacy Technician from an accredited technical institute
- Experience in a retail pharmacy
- Oncology knowledge
- Experience with electronic medical records
