Job Summary
Answer inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and healthcare professionals while contacting doctors to obtain necessary prescription information. Manage queues by working oldest orders first, accurately translate prescription details into dispensing software, and select medications for shipment. Ensure correct fulfillment of specialty pharmacy orders, including attaching labels and packaging medications prior to the pharmacist's final check. Verify patient demographics, allergies, medication history, and payer information. Maintain adequate pharmaceutical inventory by ordering, receiving, verifying, and stocking supplies. Function with other facility areas as needed for technician duties while adhering to all applicable federal and state laws and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- National CPhT and/or registration/licensure required per employee's residing state's requirements
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred
- The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
