Job Summary
Provide patients with friendly, efficient, and timely delivery of prescribed medications verified by a licensed pharmacist. Operate cash registers proficiently, handling various payment methods, balancing registers, and preparing deliveries. Actively stock new inventory and remove expired items from shelves while processing prescriptions into the computer system accurately. Screen for program eligibility, clarify issues with prescribers, count, and label medications, seeking guidance from Pharmacy Tech II or III as needed. Facilitate coordination and conveyance of specialty medications to patients through timely delivery and mail if applicable. Perform all duties and documentation in full compliance with CHC/SEK policies and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Kansas Pharmacy Tech License
- Computer Literacy and ability to read and comprehend written information
- Problem solving and evaluation abilities
- Able to communicate with others effectively to convey information
- Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient-and employee-base
- Communicates through appropriate channels
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Must be computer literate, especially with Microsoft Office products and be proficient with the Electronic Health Record software
- Must be able to maintain good inter-personal relationship with co-workers and other members of the health care team and the organization
- Provide customer service in accordance to the organization's mission
- Be courteous and respectful when interacting with patients and family members
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to organization's policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
