Job Summary
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN role under general supervision to procure, prepare, package, distribute and dispose medication, support pharmaceutical care for Georgia Urology offices, notify providers of recalls, assist with formulary questions, maintain inventory, conduct quality assurance, ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, USP, DEA, EPA), manage patient records and insurance processing, and support physicians and Advanced Prostate Cancer Team with medication documentation and reconciliations. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, Georgia license/ intern status, 2+ years retail pharmacy experience, 5+ years as a Pharmacy Technician, CPhT/PTCB/NHA certification, strong numeric, IT, and customer-service skills, and willingness to work across multiple locations with flexibility in work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- ASHP-accredited technician training program or enrollment in a professional-related school preferred
- Current CPhT certification through PTCB or NHA and active Georgia pharmacy technician license, or current enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy with a current Georgia pharmacy intern license
- Must maintain certification and license through entire length of employment
- Previous experience in a retail pharmacy, for a minimum of 2 years
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician for a minimum of 5 years
- Oncology experience preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office and medical software applications
- A valid State of Georgia Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required
- Prescription order entry experience
- Strong calculations background and knowledge of conversion charts
- Integrity, dependability, and a Team Player
- Proper telephone etiquette, and excellent customer service skills
- Critical thinking skills a must
- Attention to detail and sound judgement
- Insurance billing and claims processing preferred
- Self-motivated, task oriented, and good with time management
- Proven track record of professional and ethical behavior and a commitment to high performance
