Job Summary
Support pharmacists in all phases of the medication delivery system, including ordering, stocking, purchasing, manufacturing, dispensing, delivery, inspection, and charge functions. Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist review, complete clinical documentation, and perform medication reconciliation while utilizing the electronic pharmacy system to process charges and monitor patient needs. Maintain inventory, stock Omnicell cabinets, and ensure a clean, orderly environment of care. Communicate accurately and timely with patients, team members, and management, prioritizing tasks and seeking assistance as required. Work rotating shifts between 7am-7pm with weekends included.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Eligible for Vermont State Pharmacy Technician registration
- Previous hospital or medical experience
- Ability to stand/walk for protracted period
- Manual dexterity and mobility
- Ability to handle emergency or crisis situations
- Ability to handle interruptions and occasional pressure
- Ability to incorporate appropriate skills in all interactions and functions related to pharmacy operations
- Ability to communicate with patients team members and management in an accurate, timely manner
- Ability to complete clinical documentation accurately and timely
- Ability to talk with and listen to patients/team members
- Ability to report pertinent information
- Ability to complete timely clinical documentation/order entry
- Ability to protect confidentiality of patient/colleagues
